Capacity Building

1. Personality Development Program
Personality development programs are organized for the women addressing their specific needs. Professionals invited to conduct these training programs. The effort of CH is the holistic empowerment of women which calls for a combination of economic, social and cultural empowerment of women to stand on their legs economically and to face the challenges of life that they encounter in every day. It is also to instill a belief in them that they are self reliant and can manage their lives on their own. The program further aims to change the mindset of women to a more progressive one.
2. Education program
Adult education program is organized to impart functional literacy to the women of CH. It has been realized that the women are not very keen on learning the literacy of the word and this was not really helping them in their daily life. Hence, the education program for the women had to be concentrated on providing them with the knowledge to deal with the issues of their daily lives. For example, they need the education to deal with different departments of the municipal corporation. They need to learn to count money and do accounts. Hence, the education program of CH concentrates on these aspects rather than providing “literacy”.
3. Exposure Program
One major source of learning is the exposure that one receives to other situations that one has not witnessed in his/her lives. Many of the women who join CH has never had the opportunity to witness a life style, working conditions, way of work, other than in the area in which they are living or brought up. Hence, CH provides them with an opportunity to see other ways of life and work. As part of this, women and staff are given exposure to organizations and movements which concentrate on issues that CH works on. This has been a great learning experience for CH.
4. Refresher Training
The skills and the knowledge that the women acquire are never enough. They begin their learning curve at the training center and it continues all through their stay at CH. The constant up-gradation of products calls for up-gradation of their skills as well. The team of designers of CH is constantly striving to improve the products range of CH and to meet this challenge the women are trained regularly in new skills.
